City of Binghamton Temporarily Closes Two Pools In Response To Positive COVID-19 Case


(BINGHAMTON, N.Y.) — The City of Binghamton has temporarily closed two pools — Webster Street Park pool and Recreation Park pool — in response to a City employee testing positive for the COVID-19 virus.

The City employee works at Webster Street Park pool. A different City employee who works at Recreation Park pool had direct contact with the City employee who tested positive for the virus.

All City pool personnel who had contact with the known positive employee are undergoing COVID-19 testing.

As of Wednesday, the pool at Cheri A. Lindsey Park remains open.

The City is following all New York State Department of Health guidance regarding COVID-19 infection, exposure, testing and return to work. Contact tracing for all local cases is managed by the Broome County Health Department.
