Street Tree Planting

Street Tree Planting

Trees in our city can reduce the erosion of our precious topsoil by wind and water, cut heating and cooling costs for our homes and workplaces, moderate the temperature, clean the air and water, produce oxygen and provide habitat for wildlife. Trees also increase property values, enhance economic vitality of business areas, and beautify our community.

The City of Binghamton Park's Department offers a free tree planting service. Residents interested in having a tree planted in the utility strip in front of their property should complete the Department of Parks & Recreation Street Tree Request Form, and return it to the Park's Department.

2016 street tree plantings will begin in the Fall. The deadline for submitting a street tree request this year is September 5th.
