(ALBANY, N.Y.)Mayor Jared Kraham of the City of Binghamton has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the New York State Conference of Mayors and Municipal Officials (NYCOM). NYCOM President Mayor RuthAnn Loveless of the Village of Hamilton made the selection. The Executive Committee is responsible for governing the Conference of Mayors and establishing its overall policies.

In announcing the appointment, Mayor Loveless stated, "Even though he is only in his first term, Mayor Kraham has already demonstrated remarkable leadership and an active commitment to NYCOM's mission. His fresh perspective and early achievements will bring valuable energy to the Executive Committee, and I look forward to partnering with him to advance our statewide goals."

"I am honored to be appointed to the Executive Committee of this organization, which has been an invaluable resource for local leaders like myself," said Mayor Kraham. "From offering guidance and expertise to providing tools and support for navigating the challenges we face, NYCOM truly empowers cities and villages across New York State. I am excited to contribute to its leadership team and help ensure its continued positive impact on our members."

Mayor Kraham was sworn into office as Binghamton's 51st Mayor on January 1, 2022, becoming the youngest mayor in the city's history. Prior to taking office, he served as Binghamton's deputy mayor for nearly eight years. During his time at City Hall, Mayor Kraham has built a strong bipartisan track record advancing hundreds of pieces of legislation and leading efforts to upgrade aging infrastructure, reduce blight, advance critical housing and economic development projects, and invest in 21st-century public safety strategies to keep residents safe. In 2024, Mayor Kraham led Binghamton to become the first city in New York State to receive the Governor's Pro-Housing Communities certification, underscoring years of work to support new housing in Binghamton. As a clean energy advocate, Mayor Kraham has steered the City's sustainability efforts, which have earned Binghamton statewide recognition as a leader in green initiatives and policy.

The New York State Conference of Mayors is the statewide association representing New York's cities and villages. Since 1910, NYCOM has united local government officials in an active network of legislative advocacy, legal guidance, technical assistance and municipal training.
