City Of Binghamton Invites Public Input For Revitalization Of Conklin Avenue Corridor
— City Seeking Resident Feedback Through Online Public Survey, Community Pop-Up —
(BINGHAMTON, N.Y.) — Mayor Jared M. Kraham on Monday encouraged residents to provide input on plans to revitalize the Conklin Avenue corridor, announcing details of an online public survey and a community pop-up information session at Webster Park.
Mayor Kraham said: “Revitalizing the Conklin Avenue corridor is an investment in the future of our City. This planning process is an opportunity to create a shared vision for the corridor and identify meaningful improvements that will attract investment, strengthen small businesses and build a thriving Conklin Avenue Neighborhood Business District. I encourage residents to complete the online survey, stop by the community pop-up session and stay up-to-date on this exciting project.”
The Conklin Avenue corridor extends from South Washington Street to the City’s eastern boundary with the Town of Conklin. The revitalization project will establish a shared vision for the corridor and identify strategies to strengthen small businesses, attract investment and improve the area’s appearance, accessibility and safety.
The City launched an online survey on Monday to gather public input on the area, including current issues, potential opportunities and future development of the neighborhood. The survey will remain open through Sept. 23.
Residents are also invited to attend a community pop-up information session at Webster Park on Monday, Aug. 10 at 5:30 p.m., to ask questions, learn more about the project and share their input.
Mayor Kraham announced plans to revitalize the Conklin Avenue Corridor during his 2026 Budget Address. Highland Planning, a Rochester-based firm, was hired by the City in January to develop the Conklin Avenue Neighborhood Business District Plan.
